How Do I create and modify an On-demand Scan task?

Because there is a risk that a virus is already on your system, a very good idea is to scan your computer for resident threats after you've installed BitDefender.
And don't forget to frequently scan your computer for viruses afterwards. BitDefender comes with several default tasks which cover common security issues. You can also create your own customized scan tasks.

To do so, please switch to Expert View from the Option menu in the right upper corner of the screen, click the Antivirus section and access the Virus Scan tab.
On-demand scanning is based on scan tasks which specify the scanning options and the objects to be scanned. You can scan the computer whenever you want by running the default tasks or your own scan tasks, also called user-defined tasks. You can also schedule them to run on a regular basis or when the system is idle so they don't interfere with your work.

To create a scan task, you can use one of the following methods:

  1. Clone an existing task, rename it, and make the necessary changes in the Properties window.
  2. The second method is to create a new task and configure it without using the settings available for other scan tasks.

The new task will appear under the User defined tasks. You will be able to remove the created task at any moment from this window or reschedule it.

To modify a scan task, you just have to double-click an existing task, or right click it and select Properties.
