Why Do I have to scan my Computer every week?
You've probably heard about identity theft and how it's growing rapidly. This happens when cyber criminals stealthily take control over your computer and steal credit card info, social security numbers, bank account credentials and other personal data and use them for illicit financial gains.
To keep safe from this kind of threats, you should run a complete security solution on your PC and make sure that it’s updated with the latest antivirus signatures. An antivirus signature is a sort of fingerprint of the malicious code, which can be identified and captured by the antivirus solutions.
The BitDefender security suite relies on a system of hourly antivirus signature updates and on proactive malware detection technologies, which detect new, unsigned malware based on its behavior.
To change it, you can either edit the existing System Scan task, or clone it and set the weekly time information in the scheduler.
The BitDefender 2011 Expert view dashboard indicates the time of your last antivirus scan. If it was run more than a week before, we recommend that you scan your computer as soon as possible.
To scan the entire computer, go to Security and run either Full System Scan or a Deep System Scan.
