Why Did BitDefender Automatically Delete an Infected File?

Once an infected file is detected, BitDefender will attempt either to disinfect it or to remove it altogether. In the better case, the file is either moved to the Quarantine folder or deleted.
If you want to change how BitDefender deals with infected files and viruses, you can customize the scanner so as to greatly reduce scanning times and to improve your computer's responsiveness during a scan.

  1. To customize the scanning options, switch to Expert View.
  2. Access the Antivirus module and the Shield tab will be displayed.
  3. Here, you can configure the protection level  and specify the actions to be taken on the infected files detected
  4. You can configure the options for the second action, in case the first action fails.
