How Do I Allow Connections with Other Computers?
You can allow or block computers for each specific network adapter by setting up “Zones” of access with them.
A “Trusted Zone” is a computer that you fully trust, meaning that all traffic between your computer and a trusted computer is allowed. To share resources with specific computers in an unsecured wireless network, add them as allowed computers.
An “Untrusted Zone” is a computer that you do not want to communicate with at all.
Here’s how you can create access zones:
If you encounter any issues during the configuration, you can start a troubleshooting wizard that will assist you.
The wizard will check for an Internet connection. If access to the Internet is not available, you will be redirected to integrated support. According to the specific situation, the wizard will generate a rule that will be passed to the firewall application logic. The Troubleshooting wizard will be launched from the firewall interface and, if appropriate, from Integrated Support, as an additional troubleshooting method.
If you fail to connect to a computer, you can use the “Find Computer” dialog to help find the available computers in the network. You will be able to choose one or more computers and allow communication with them by adding their IP address.
