How Do I Exclude Applications from Active Virus Control?
BitDefender Active Virus Control (AVC) protects against new, unsigned threats by constantly monitoring applications for suspicious behavior. As some legitimate applications may be reported by Active Virus Control, it may become necessary for you to configure exceptions to its monitoring activity.
- Switch to Expert View by using the Options menu in the upper right corner.
- Open the Antivirus section, and in Shield tab click the Advanced Settings button. Check that Active Virus Control is enabled.
- Access the Exclusions tab.
- You can exclude an application from Active Virus control by adding a rule in the Exception table, by clicking the “+” sign. For example, to add a rule for Internet Explorer, first click the “+” sign, then specify the path to the executable file of the application.
- Search for the application and point to its executable file.
- Notice that a rule will appear in the table with the default action Allowed.
- From the drop down list you can decide to allow or block it.
- To complete this task, click OK.
